HELP FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE SURVIVORS
Therapeutic family services, interventions and solutions
Jess Lovibond Therapeutic Services CIC (JLTS) is passionate about changing and improving the lives of families and safeguarding children who have experienced Domestic Abuse (DA), trauma or Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company we are proud to be able to offer free family services, interventions and solutions in the Swale and Medway areas of Kent, offering parenting support, parenting groups, mental health help and individual advice. We are lucky to have some fantastic volunteers working with us to enable us to provide direct therapeutic services to families in need.
For schools and other organisations working with vulnerable children and their families we provide a range of Professional Services such as: low-cost/high-quality training; workshops; information sharing; clinical supervision; bespoke therapeutic plans; referrals; consultations and school improvement services (which includes Therapeutic Thinking and Holistic Assessment Framework training). We encourage and promote early intervention (early help) and therapeutic crisis intervention.
As specialists of Contextual Safeguarding, JLTS provide resources and systems for understanding and assessing Contextual Safeguarding risks and work with our clients to embed a person-centred, holistic approach into their practice for consistently improved outcomes.
We welcome schools and organisations to contact us for a free consultation to receive support and advice regarding children and families who have suffered DA, trauma or ACEs - this is a great way of gaining practice inspiration for those families whose circumstances do not meet the criteria for a statutory service (such as families affected by DA) or those whose circumstances are considered complex.
See our About Us page for more information about JLTS and what we do!
Bespoke holistic assessment and systemic therapy practices
We help and advise families in many ways, here are some of the therapeutic family services we can offer:
1:1 therapy / online counselling sessions for individuals, couples or whole families
Domestic Abuse advice and recovery (including children’s therapeutic services)
Parenting services and advice
Parent advocacy - for parents dealing with The System
Help for understanding behaviour
Loss / Trauma / Attachment advice
At JLTS we specialise in Contextual Safeguarding and have been promoting it through Holistic Assessment for more than a decade.
Contextual Safeguarding is a way of assessing potential risk to an individual by investigating the individual’s own CONTEXT – their wider environment and all the things in that environment which could impact their development or put their safety at risk.
We use a Holistic Assessment Framework, that was born from curiosity about context. We find out everything about a child that could have an adverse impact on them in order to progress with our Holistic Therapy methods to work to resolve the issue once and properly.
We provide Professionals with support, advice and training in a range of areas including:
Safeguarding children / Child Protection consultation
Advice on supporting Looked After & Post Adoptive children
Therapeutic holistic assessment for individuals and families
Behaviour Management / Modification Plans
Training / information sharing for staff teams
Clinical Supervision / Practice Guidance
Domestic Abuse (DA) affects 1 in 4 women, 1 in 6 men and all children of the victims.
Anybody can be affected by Domestic Abuse
It is NEVER the fault of the victim
We help all survivors who have experienced DA recover and heal from their experiences. JLTS:
do NOT judge
We help surviving parents to understand the impact of DA on their children, and work with the whole family to rebuild relationships.
If you think you are in an abusive relationship see our DA advice and Safety Planning Top Tips for what to do and where to get help.

I have worked with Jess since 2013 across 3 different settings. She continues to play an invaluable, active and significant role in supporting school improvement strategies relating to contextual safeguarding and pupil outcomes via supporting child-centred, holistic practice with staff and with families. Impactful supervision has been invaluable to staff well-being and outcomes for children and families over this Covid period. I endorse her skills without hesitation.
