Family Therapy Services
Here at JLTS, we know that parenting and family life can be the most rewarding thing in the world. We also understand that at times it can be the most frustrating and heart-breaking too. That’s why, when it’s tough, you can trust us not to judge or criticise, you can be confident that we’ll listen, care, and try our very best to help.
We believe that you are the expert in your family, so we will work with you to make a useful, realistic plan that works for you all. Depending on the nature of the issue and the age(s) of your child(ren), we might work directly and individually with them or we might work with other members of your family.

Here's how it works:
Parenting Support
Being a parent can be hard work! The pay is terrible, the hours are outrageous and the sick-leave policy is non-existent! But we wouldn't change it for the world, would we? That doesn’t mean that now and then we haven’t found ourselves at the end of our tether, not knowing what to do for the best.
That’s where we can help.

Between us, the team at JLTS have more parenting tips, hacks, understanding behaviour advice and suggestions than we can count. We’re parents, professional parents, and child-specialist professionals, so there’s not much we can’t help with!
We’re really good at just listening too - because sometimes that’s the most helpful thing we can do.
Individual Advice
If you’d prefer an individual chat or family therapy, we’d love to hear from you. It takes courage to ask for help – especially when it’s to do with our kids, so we’re always here to listen and help if we can. Some of the things we can offer individual advice and help with are:
-
Behaviour concerns and understanding behaviour
-
Mental Health / Emotional health concerns
-
Anxiety support
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Moving on after family separation
-
DA family recovery services (Please see our Domestic Abuse section)
-
Coping with loss or other traumatic events
-
Issues with school
-
Advice and support around diagnosis of neurodiverse conditions such as ADHD and ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition)
If there's something else that's not on the list,
get in touch and ask
- if we can't help you ourselves, we will help you find someone who can.
Our family therapy sessions can help with building realationships and understanding behaviour
Domestic Abuse Support

Anybody can be affected by Domestic Abuse - it is NEVER the fault of the victim.
JLTS will help any survivors of domestic abuse, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or sexuality.
We help survivors to recover and heal from their experiences without judgement and with compassion.

For more information and details of how we help please see: DA Support

In addition we also offer our bespoke Peer 2 Peer Support Service, which gives survivors access to support from another survivor - this provides the invaluable practical and emotional support from someone who has been there and understands.

Direct Therapeutic Work Services

We provide high-quality bespoke therapeutic family support services, including systemic therapy, to families referred by other agencies, including schools.
Direct work services are offered to families who need support but who don’t meet criteria for statutory services such as Social Services or CAMHS.
Our assessments are holistic, child-centred and strengths-led giving us the ability to intervene either at home or school, whichever is most likely to bring the best outcomes for the child and organisation.
